Abermawr Beach: Idyllic beach-break destination!
Rajni | Sep 10 2008

What would be your answer if somebody asks you the perfect getaway which allows you to escape the hustle and bustle of life? My answer would be beaches... I’m sure you’ll agree with me on this. No matter what time of the year it may be, taking a beach vacation is both fun and relaxing.

From a white sandy beach, lava rock beach or a secluded beach, there are so many beaches all over the world that it gets difficult to choose one for your vacation. If you’d like to do more than picture yourself swaying gently over crystalline waters in perfect weather, then Abermawr Beach (Pembrokeshire) is just the right place to be at!

Backed by lovely woodlands and fields with high cliffs, Abermawr is a reasonably exposed beach-break. Besides giving the opportunity to be in solitude amidst the breathtaking landscapes, the beach is perfect for surfing.

Stay at:

Trellyn Woodland Camping at nearby Abercastle is the place to stay at. Stay at these has beautiful secluded pitches costs £120 per week.

Caerhys Farm in the hamlet of Berea and the TYF Eco Hotel are also the good choices.

Eat at:

The Farmers Arms in Mathry (about two miles away) is the best place to eat at if you’ve not got the lunch along. It has a good range of beers and bar food.

Getting there:

The beach is well signposted from the crossroads on the A487 about a mile north east of Mathry. The road is narrow and parking is very limited. There is a short path to the beach from the roadside. It’s not difficult to get there, but bringing map can help in finding the directions.

Best time to visit:

Winter and spring are the best time of the year to plan a vacation to Abermawr Beach.
